![]() ![]() If you get tired, you will be brought back to the lounge where you started where you can get a drink or go to the bathroom. Depending who you follow the story will be interesting or exercise, so choose wisely. When we compared stories with our friends, it really was different. My friend and I managed to stay together despite the number of audience following the actor. Since you are following different actors, there are about 21 actors, each person's view of the show is a bit different. Other audience members are holding hands which unintentionally forms a chain so they don't lose each other though it becomes annoying since you can't get around them. Some audience members are pushy when trying to follow the actors into a narrow hallway or corridor so have patience and be considered of your fellow audience members. It's a bit dim in some rooms but able to see though a bit crowded as more audience members come in. If you go, I recommend wear comfortable shoes since a lot of walking and get your steps in. It takes a while to check-in (bag check $4 - can't carry anything - no purses, backpacks, coats registration check-in, and lounge waiting). Make sure you show up 30 minutes before your time slot. No pictures during the show since you are following an actor up and down the stairs and through rooms of a 5 floor hotel. Shakespeare's Macbeth interactive off-Broadway show is about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. You will be walking enough to get near 7,000-10,000 steps depending on the actors you follow.Ģ) Might want to do a cliff notes or abridged review of Shakespeare's Macbeth. But if I decide to save some money the next time I go, I definitely plan on getting there early with a book so that I can get the most out of the time once in.ġ) This is not your laid back theater where you sit and watch. I splurged and got the private table, which allowed me to bypass standing in line outside. I decided to just meander and really enjoy the ambiance and environments, and I randomly happened upon a lot of the major scenes (I'm not into rushing or crowds, so it helps that they appear to go through the story twice in a night - I was able to pseudo-park myself in a space and wind up with front row standing vs trying to keep up with a crowd and then end up in the back). If you want to follow specific performers and race around the venue, go for it. It's disconcerting and spooky and dreamy and unsettling and beautiful and YES. It rides the line between a dream and a nightmare, and I'm HERE FOR IT. Sleep No More had been on my bucket list for years, and now that I've gone, I need to GO AGAIN. I cannot wait to go again because I know I only saw half of it. Also, the drinks were amazing (the martinis for me ) and having the live band and singer perform whole youre waiting for your card was so enjoyable. I had a million different emotions during it, I cried, was scared, excited, curious, and all the above. ![]() At one point a man brought me into his shower with him and had me bring him his clothes out of a dresser and literally dress him in front of everyone, it was bone chilling. The most sureal moment was when I got to interact with the actors, following them around and figuring out what they would do next. The performers were literal athletes, throwing themselves against tables and on and over top each other, I have no idea how they do this so often. The line was super long, but I would wait in a line thrice its size to relive that. I had been binging Gossip Girl before I went and did not connect the dots until I got inside and realized this was literally a whole episode in the show, which was so cool to expirence, but the show did not show what the expirence was like AT ALL. Words would have no justice describing this expirence. ![]() It's worth noting that this is definitely not an experience meant to be shared with kids (I'm certain there'll be enough pointers through the booking process to tell you that :-) ) There's a lot happening through the 1.5 hours of this play that would need your full attention so I'd definitely recommend coming here as sober as possible :-) Highly recommend reading up a bit about Shakespeare's plays (Macbeth specifically) to get some sense of what's happening here else it can get a bit overwhelmingģ. Even if you're coming here as a part of a group, be ready to be a bit adventurous and explore this experience alone purely because once the play starts, it's difficult to hang with your group especially through all the moving partsĢ. Given the intrigue and sophistication around their themes, below are some pointersġ. If you've never been to a "sleep no more", this is a once in a lifetime experience ! Assuming they'll open up once the pandemic is over (at some point), id definitely recommend giving them a try. ![]()
